FAQs

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • How do I whiten my teeth?

Toothpaste, strips, and LED lights are a few ways that people whiten their teeth. However, one of the best ways to brighten your smile is by using a custom tray and bleaching gel.

  • How long does it take to see noticeable results?

Each person will see different results depending on the desired brightness and consistency of whitening. Generally, people will see some effects in the first 24 hours of using a whitening tray and bleaching gel.

  • How often should I whiten my teeth?

The need to whiten your teeth varies based on your habits. If you often consume dark liquids like coffee, tea, or wine, or if you smoke or use chewing tobacco, your teeth are more likely to get stained. The frequency of teeth whitening depends on the specific condition of your teeth, your habits,  and your preferred level of whiteness.

  • Will I experience sensitivity when whitening my teeth?

You may experience sensitivity while whitening. When you begin whitening your teeth, remove the tray after a few hours to lessen sensitivity. The bleaching gel recommended by Dr. Custer is designed to lessen sensitivity while also whitening.

  • Will my crown whiten?

Crowns are made of porcelain which will not be affected by the bleaching gel. Whiten your teeth to the desired brightness before you have your crown placed.
